Matt Damon thinks his character in 'Team America' is hilarious

Matt Damon has been struggling to make the cut to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live for, like, a decade. Literally. The only time he was ever actually on the show was when he kidnapped Kimmel and hosted the program himself. As he prepares for a possible actual appearance on JKL to promote his forthcoming film Monuments Men, Damon took some time in the green room to stop by The Front Page of the Internet and humor the masses/trolls with sarcasm and tidbits about his life.

Obviously, Damon's body of work was immediately marginalized when someone inquired about his puppet, which appeared in Matt Stone and Trey Parker's hilarious political and social commentary, Team America: World Police. In the film, you might recall, Matt Damon's puppet looks mildly deformed. That's because the puppet was accidentally deformed and Parker and Stone didn't have time to fix it, so they just wrote Damon's character to reflect the puppet's appearance. That's why he can only say, "MATT. DAMOOOON."

Damon told the Internet that he loves the bit and appreciates the work of the geniuses behind South Park.

I thought it was brilliant! I mean, I never understood it, and then I heard an interview with them and they said the puppet came in looking kind of mentally deficient and they didn’t have time to change it, so they just made me someone who could really only say his own name. All the comedy they’re doing is really next-level stuff. Also, I liked being included as a person who was against the Iraq war.

If you've got the time, cruise on over to Reddit and check out the full AMA. Damon dishes on breaking into the business, his favorite spots in Boston, and the hilarious NSA rant in Good WIll Hunting. It's definitely worth a few minutes of your afternoon. [Reddit]
