Larry Wilmore takes on Bill Cosby allegations in second episode of ‘Nightly Show’

Host Larry Wilmore returned to Comedy Central last night for the second episode of The Nightly Show, this time focusing on the sexual assault allegations facing embattled comedian Bill Cosby.

"We're answering the question, 'Did he do it?'" Wilmore said to start the show. "The answer will be, 'Yes.' "

Wilmore did not let up from there, calling the allegations against Cosby a "hurricane of horror" and skewering everything from Cosby's "far from finished" comments to the disbelief his accusers have faced since they began speaking out rapidly in November of last year.

"The current tally stands at 35 women. Really, folks, how many more do we need?" Wilmore said. "That's like if Bill Cosby drugged and raped every single U.S. president from George Washington to John F. Kennedy."

The Nightly Show's guests, which included Ebony editor Jamilah Lemieux, comedian Kathleen Madigan, writer Baratunde Thurston, and Philly's own Keith Robinson, were a little more restrained. Robinson, a longtime comedian out of South Philly, even erred on the side of defending Cosby.

"Wherever you see Gloria Allred, you know somebody's lying," Robinson said, referring to the recent press conferences she has held to reveal more Cosby accusers. "Gloria Allred is like the Al Sharpton of women."

"We're going too hard on Cosby," he later said.

That attitude carried over into the show's "Keep It 100" segment, with Robinson saying he would "absolutely" go out for drinks with Cosby and a group of women if he were invited.

Still, though, when asked if Cosby would be remembered as a rapist or a comedian if he died tomorrow, Robinson replied "Rapist, absolutely."

Despite that admission, Wilmore still ended up throwing all his weak tea at Robinson to end the roundtable segment for "absolutely" believing some of Cosby's accusers are lying.

"There's no statute of limitations on my opinion," Wilmore said early on in the episode. "And I'm telling you, that motherf----r did it."
