Jon Gosselin gets evicted from PA home, leaves kitten behind

Jon Gosselin's path to the bottom began many moons ago, and, if today's news is any indicator, there is still no end in sight.

Jon Gosselin's path to the bottom began many moons ago, and, if today's news is any indicator, there is still no end in sight. Eviction, after all, does tend to make many bad situations worse. Abandon a kitten on top of it all, and you're really in trouble.

Gosselin, of course, knows this, with former landlord Linda Eways telling Star that following an eviction for missed rent payments, the Jon and Kate Plus 8 dad vacated his rural Pennsylvania home, leaving behind a small kitten. According to reports, Gosselin had left the house in extremely poor condition, and was not concerned about his apparently abandoned feline friend. Star fills in the details:

"I showed up to take a look at the house after Jon was supposed to have been entirely moved out, and what I found completely shocked and infuriated me," Linda tells Star... Garbage and other debris were scattered throughout the house, while white walls and doors inside bore damage from Jon's dog. "I was so frustrated by the entire situation that I had to leave and give him one more day to entirely move."

"We called Jon and asked him about the kitten, and he seemed unconcerned, saying it belonged to his ex girlfriend Liz [Janetta], who left in September. He just left her there. It broke my heart, but we adopted her."

At the time of his eviction, Gosselin was reportedly four months behind on rent for the $299,000 house, which he was renting to own. Eways ended up taking Gosselin to court for the sum of $5,824.70, leading to Gosselin's eviction. However, Eways maintains that she hoped to work with Gosselin on the payments, which ultimately fell through:

"Jon never came up with the money and was squatting in our home for four months. It's a shame because we offered to make his payment plan as easy as possible. He would always laugh off any help and tell us that he had plenty of money and didn't need a mortgage, because he could have easily paid for the house in cash."

As for Gosselin's part in all this, he says that Eways' accusations are "not completely true." Kate, meanwhile, has a yard sale coming up.

The good times, they are behind us:
