Music artists Janelle Monae and Jidenna lead peaceful protest through Philly

In an effort to continue to promote the importance of the "Black Lives Matter" movement, over 100 protesters marched up North Broad Street Wednesday with the company and support of music artists Janelle Monae and Jidenna. Members from Philly's youth organization Philly Student Union shared video and photos from the peaceful protest toward the Uptown Theater on social media.

Rally organizer Melanie McCoy publicized the march on her Facebook page early Wednesday saying, "If I were us Philadelphia I would pay attention to all of the clues for #‎BlackJoyPhilly ... You don't want to miss this. Spread the word."

Speaking out against police brutality, Jidenna and Monae encouraged the crowd to "say his name, say her name."
