HS coach suspended for calling Michelle Obama 'fat butt,' gays an abomination

A high school football coach in Alabama has been suspended for 10 days without pay for comments he made about First Lady Michelle Obama and calling gays "an abomination." During a psychology class at Lauderdale County High School, Bob Grisham called the First Lady of the United States "fat butt Michell Obama." He suggested that she weigheds between 185-190 pounds and that she's overweight. Then, Grisham went on a tangent about the direction America is heading. He called gays "an abomination against God."

You can go tell the principal, you can call the superintendent and tell her. I don't believe in queers, I don't like queers. I don't … I don't hate them as a person but what they do is wrong, it's an abomination against God. I don't like being around queers.

Amid calls for Grisham's termination, the school board instead elected to suspend the coach and prohibit him from teaching psychology. [CBS Atlanta]

Teachers need to keep politics out of the classroom. In the 80s I was told Ronald Reagan was the devil because his name was 6-6-6 Ronald Wilson Reagan. I ignored the idiot but it is much worse today. From all viewpoints.

Two things: We are guaranteed free speech, not freedom from the ramifications of what we say. If he spoke in an official capacity as a teacher/coach at the school, they have every right to do what they feel is right to distance themselves from him. If however, he said this on a private page and it was forwarded to people at what, this has already been tried in several courts and they cannot go after him as directly. On a side note, Michelle is not very attractive to me and the reason she is fair game for criticism on this front is because of the tremendous amount of time the media keep telling us how beautiful and glamorous she is. As far as his views on homosexuality, he is entitled to those however bigoted and myopic they may be. I am religious and I will leave it up to God to decide that issue. My job as a citizen in this country is to see to it that everyone receives equal treatment (not preferential) under the law and that no one is discriminated against on any issue such as that.

Hey professor, lay off the caffeine. We get it. Don't you have a job? All you do is sit around and post all day from your moms basement no less. Btw, btw, btw... Dude relax. Being as smart as you pretend to be, you should no that you can't justify something by saying someone else does it. If the Philly SD is biased, which I agree with, it does not make it ok for another SD to be biased.

Having a difference of opinion doesn't make you a bigot, it means you live in a country that is the greatest in the world where people are allowed to disagree. The left is all for free speech as long as that free speech agrees with their opinion.
