Apparently Freddie Mercury helped Princess Diana sneak into a gay bar in the late '80s. This revelation comes from comedian Cleo Rocos' book The Power of Positive Drinking. She says that she spent a night at London's Royal Vauxhall Tavern with Princess Diana (who was dressed as a male model), Mercury, and comedian Kenny Everett.

She said she did not know whether Diana was propositioned in the bar in her guise as a male model, but added: "She did look like a beautiful young man."

The presence of Mercury, Everett and Rocos diverted revellers' attention and Diana was able to order drinks undetected, Rocos recalled. [The Telegraph]
