Former reality star Jon Gosselin is a DJ now

It's been a while since we last heard from ex-reality TV star and current sorta-dad Jon Gosselin, and evidently the man has been busy changing careers in his absence from the public eye. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to DJ Jon Gosselin.

"I love it. The hours are great," Gosselin told People magazine in a recent interview. "I get to go out, have a good time with all my friends, play the music I like to hear, and have the day to myself."

His newfound employer, Eclipse Entertainers in Morgantown, provides "DJs, lighting, photo booths, and beyond" for your next gathering, judging by the business card. And for the record: Yes, "DJ Jon Gosselin" is his real DJ name.

Gosselin says he DJs somewhere around 15 nights a month here in Pennsylvania, making stops in places as far-flung from his Reading home as Allentown and Bally. And, perhaps surprisingly for someone who helped raise eight kids, the former reality star is finding the whole thing quite a bit of work:

"It's not easy," says Gosselin, 38. "You have to know what you're doing. You have to keep the flow."

For Gosselin, that flow comes from the power of spinning an incredibly disparate mix of tracks at his gigs:

"I'll go back to the '50s and play some James Brown then into the '80s: Prince and stuff like that," he says. "Then into the '90s, and then Taylor Swift or whatever. I just move around." 

However, do not expect the man to play your wedding. He has standards, after all, and they don't involve you gawking at him while he's trying to spin some tunes:

"I've had bad experiences," he says. "The brides get pissed. I've been at people's weddings and then their guests start taking pictures of me and it's not good. It's an uncomfortable situation."

"We're not talking about going to a wedding in LA where everyone's famous and on TV," he adds. "Around here, it's different."

DJ, of course, is just Gosselin's latest line of work, with the Berks County resident taking up everything from installing solar panels to waiting tables and app-making over the last several years. This time, Gosselin tells People, he's hoping the move will stick:

"I have to be more patient and let my dreams turn into ideas," he says. "I'm tired of job hopping."
