Chris Christie apparently prefers Bon Jovi to Bruce Springsteen now

Even though he's been to more than 130 Bruce Springsteen concerts in the last four decades, Gov. Chris Christie apparently much prefers the musical stylings of New Jersey's other favorite band: Bon Jovi.

Christie made his reversal on an episode of Lifezette's "This or That" in which he sat down for an interview along with his wife, First Lady Mary Pat Christie. And, of course, in it, they are both asked whether their preference lies with Bon Jovi or Springsteen.

"This is a hard one," Mary Pat agonized. "Their music or their person?"

And with no further explanation, Mary Pat hesitantly responded, "Bon Jovi."

Gov. Christie, meanwhile, agreed with minimal delay: "Bon Jovi," he said.

Shocking. Especially considering Christie is on record saying that his favorite song is "Thunder Road," and, you know, the whole "130 Springsteen concerts" thing he's long been touting. Oh, and that time he wished the Boss a happy 65th birthday over social media. The list goes on.

But still, you have your answer: Chris Christie likes Bon Jovi better than Bruce Springsteen. Now, whether Jon Bon Jovi's recent permission for Christie to use his tracks at campaign events had any effect on that is up for debate.

"My friendships are apolitical," Bon Jovi said via a statement of Christie's use of his songs. "And yes, I absolutely gave him permission to use my songs."

Or maybe it was Springsteen's parody of "Born to Run" on Fallon that put the final nail in coffin. Or Springsteen's refusal to play Christie's 2010 inaugural party before that. Because while Bon Jovi's friendships may not be political, Bruce Springsteen's apparently are.

So, Christie supporters, if "It's My Life" is one of your favorite songs, good for you: You're probably going to be hearing it quite a lot over the next year.
