On Wednesday night, the Boston Bruins hosted the Buffalo Sabres for the city's first major sporting event since the bombing of Monday's Boston Marathon. Longtime Bruins National Anthem singer, Rene Rancourt begins the Star-Spangled Banner, but quickly lets the crowd take over, as the thousands in attendance sang out the words.

"Being out here today, the energy from the crowd, it's as though your tears turn into joy," Boston firefighter David Blaides, the commander of the guard, told ESPN afterward. "It was fulfilling being out there today." [Hollywood Reporter]
