On Monday, January 7, 2013, America fell in love with Katherine Webb. Miss Alabama USA was in the stands at the BCS National Championship game to cheer for her boyfriend, AJ McCarron as he and the Crimson Tide torched Notre Dame, 42-14.

By now, you've heard about the swoon heard 'round the world: Brent Musburger fulfilling his civic duty to make the country aware of Webb's existence. THE PEOPLE NEEDED TO KNOW. On Tuesday, ESPN issued an apology, suggesting that the McCarron/Webb storyline was worth noting, but that Musburger took it a step too far.

Katherine Webb responded to the apology while on The Today Show, positing that Musburger's word choice was more complimentary than creepy.

“The fact that he said we were beautiful and gorgeous, I don’t think any woman wouldn’t be flattered by that. I appreciate it, but at the same time I don’t think I needed an apology.” [Washington Post]
