If you grew up in the Philadelphia area, you've inevitably measured your summers in trips down the Shore and afternoons spent tailgating Dave Matthews Band concerts in the scenic parking lots of Camden, New Jersey. *Insert nitrous balloon joke here*

This year, though, DMB fans might have been lured to the middle Pennsylvania where Dave and company were slated to play a concert in Hershey on Saturday (with supporting act Kool & the Gang because, "Celebration").

On Saturday afternoon, Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were on their way to that DMB concert in Hershey when they saw a man with a bike seemingly stranded on the side of the road. They stopped to help. Turns out the stranded guy was Dave Matthews. He didn't have a cell phone and needed a lift.

The Grammy-winning musician had gone out for a pre-show ride Saturday when the back tire of his bike popped.

"I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'Sh*t," he recalled that night at his show at Hersheypark Stadium.

"And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig."

Matthews thanked couple by buying them dinner, bringing them backstage, and hooking them up with front row tickets to the show. [CNN]

UPDATE: Emily Kraus called 1210 WPHT this morning to talk to Chris Stigall about the series of events that led to Dave Matthews sitting in the back seat of her car on the way to his own concert. You should definitely listen to the play-by-play here.
