Forget everything you know about BINGO because the 14th annual black-tie GayBINGO fundraiser is bringing a whole new meaning to the game.

Taking place at the Crystal Tea Room on Friday, March 1, the 14th annual black-tie GayBINGO benefit will be raising money to donate to HIV and AIDS initiatives in Philadelphia. Guests will be able to take pleasure in cocktails, dinner, dancing a silent auction along with a special, live performance from the Bingo Verifying Divas. The event is being brought to you by AIDS Fund Philly.

Additionally, an awards show will be held in order to present three influential people in the HIV and AIDS community with awards for their work.

Dust off your Chucks, lace up your Doc Martens and secure any items of value, because Guitar Army celebrates its first anniversary this Thursday at Barbarella.

The all vinyl, all rock anthem party has been musically orchestrated by one-man show, Eddie B. Gieda (aka EBGIII), since day one. The night was initially catalyzed by the death of legendary MC5 bassist, Michael Davis, in early 2012. In an effort to show tribute to Davis, and other vital rock legends, Eddie created a dance party unlike any other in the city of Philadelphia. The now bi-monthly event is a ritual for not only him and his vinyl records, but for a flourishing dedicated fan base, who turn out week after week to jam out with a crew of rock hungry misfits.

Additionally, the SOLD OUT Queers and Teenage Bottlerocket show on The Barbary's first floor is happening opposite of the celebration. However, you don't need a ticket to attend this event, just a genuine thirst for glam-rock, post punk, soul, garage and psyche music. If you happen to be at the show, make sure to head upstairs afterwards for after-party fun. Time to dance, sweat and kick out the jams like never before!

The weather’s finally warming up—let’s get out there and rage!

Thursday, February 28: Cold Fronts at Kung Fu Necktie

Philly garage rockers Cold Fronts are a band on the rise, thanks in part to big pop licks, and an interminable spirit of rock’n roll revelry. Since forming two years back, the band has quickly proved its mettle, playing an insane number of shows, including opening for MewithoutYou, Free Energy, The Morning Benders, and more. Now, the band is ready to depart for a month-long tour—including a stop at SXSW—and will celebrate with an epic kick-off party, along with fellow rebel-rousers Double King and TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb. Only $5!

If you're a fan of hip-hop, then you're familiar with music legend J Dilla. In 2006, at the age of 32, Dilla tragically passed due to complications with Lupus–a chronic inflammatory disease that attacks the entire body. Before his passing, Dilla widely contributed his talents to the craft he dearly loved and essentially set the bar for contemporary hip-hop. He influenced and worked with such artists as Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots and many more.

In honor and celebration of the late music icon, Johnny Brenda's will be hosting a one night only tribute this very evening featuring Philadelphia's very own hip hop legends Questlove, Rich Medina and Mike Nyce. A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will go to benefit The Lupus Foundation on behalf of J Dilla.
