All summer long excitement was in the air as people waited anxiously for the arrival of the highly anticipated Made in America Festival that Jay-z announced in May. This past weekend, the festival finally arrived, and it was just as magical as we'd all hoped it would be, if not more.

With acts like Run DMC, Pearl Jam, Drake, The Hives, Calvin Harris, Santigold, a surprise performance from Kanye West and of course, Jay-z himself, this is an event that Philadelphia will never forget. Photos by Marie Alyse Rodriguez.

Make way for an emcee who has proven himself as an ever-developing, well-rounded Philly talent and who is about to be blowing up your speakers on the regular. If you don’t know about Rone, let us school you a little.

Rone is a Philly based emcee who initially garnered a buzz and fan-base from his battle-rap league involvement. If you haven’t heard of him, you’re in luck, because he has just released his latest visual for his single “Giving My Love” which you can view below.  Rone’s delivery in the song is impressive and the visuals are on-point. We're totally digging the still shot effect.

Rone will be headlining his very own album release party featuring his debut album “The First Story” at Milkboy on Saturday, June 23rd, four days after the release day on Tuesday, June 19th.  “The First Story” contains zero samples.  Instead, each song was built from scratch by Rone and some of Philadelphia’s most talented producers which includes Rick Friedrich (credited producer of The Roots’ Grammy-nominated “How I Got Over” album, Ritz Reynolds (Producer for Mac Miller, The Roots, OCD: Moosh & Twst, etc.), Khari Mateen and more.

While Tyler is on tour, he doesn’t want to leave his fans hanging. In honor of summer, and the nostalgic feelings we get around this time, he’s release a compilation of his favorite jams that the rapper listens to while on the road. The playlist includes Toro y Moi, Grizzly bear, Stevie Wonder, N.E.R.D. & more. You'll also catch a preview of of Tyler's own (and unreleased) "Analog Pt.2".
