With only two weeks until Labor Day Weekend, a couple thoughts can pop up in one’s head. For one thing, it’s an extra day off from work, but other thoughts that could run through your mind is, “wow I haven’t been down the shore yet, and oops, summer’s almost over!” Take advantage of this upcoming weekend with a couple events happening down the shore. You may even come back with a memory from it tattooed on your skin.

Beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 15 inked-up folks, and the potentially tatted bunch can sink up knowledge in everything body modification during the Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Running through Sunday, August 17, guests can see world-class artwork, enjoy a death-defying Lucky Daredevil Thrill show, and can meet the Titano Strongman, a one-of-a-kind performance you won’t forget. The convention opens at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“Say a little prayer” with Dionne Warwick on Friday, August 15 at the Revel Casino’s Oviation Hall as this five-time Grammy award winning diva graces our presence on stage for a night of hits your parents sung to you, and you sung out loud in your car.

You’re all swagged out in your fancy Atlantic City nightlife gear, so play the part on Friday, August 15 during Wine and Jazz Under the Stars at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. Taking place on the event lawn outside of the Golden Nugget at 8 p.m., guests will sip the latest signatures from wine companies in California and Italy, and enjoy cuisine by Chef Bobby Hettmannsperger.

The early bird gets the worm — or in this case, the wave. Surfers will compete during the 6th leg of the 2014 ESA Easterns surfing tournament, taking place at 7 a.m. on the 7th Street beach of Ocean City on Saturday, August 16. Either watch these rippers ride through the waves, or test your wave combos and carves against other shredders of the sea. Sign ups are on the beach morning of the contest.

If you missed Journey at the Susquehanna Bank Center in June, and can’t get tickets for their show in Atlantic City on August 29, the closest experience you can get to this rock and roll band is on Saturday, August 16 at 8 p.m. as Journey cover band, Separate Ways takes stage at Excursion Park in Sea Isle City. Best part about this show, it’s free.

Historic Cold Village prides itself on recreating shore life from 1780 through 1840 and although automobiles were not made during those years, this Cape May Village appreciates motor history as antique cars line up along the village from 11 a.m. though 3 p.m. during a Classic Car and Cruise starting on Saturday, August 16 through Sunday, August 17.

if you missed the first Ocean Breeze Arts and Crafts show in July, Ventnor City is holding another Ocean Breeze Craft Show on Saturday, August 16 as vendors selling artwork and original handmade crafts line up around the Ventnor Library at 9 a.m. This is the last art show of the summer, so don’t miss this opportunity to feng shui your living space with some local artwork.

Adding a little bit of shore flavor to your house never hurt, and on Saturday, August 16 through Sunday, August 17 the Wildwoods Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue will be filled with vendors selling their handmade products that vary in many different items during a Boardwalk Craft Show.
