Calling all cultured young professionals. The Barnes Foundation has an autumn evening event planned with you in mind.
This fall’s Young Professionals Night, on Friday, October 18 from 7 to 10 p.m., features a Picasso theme with enough drink specials and dancing to lift you out of any blue period.
Attendees are welcome to explore the galleries and mingle with other art-lovers, and are encouraged to dress in their finest orange, pink, or red attire to celebrate Picasso’s Rose Period. From the décor to the outfits-- and even the music-- the event will carry a theme consistent with the Spanish artist’s work from 1904 to 1906 that included bright paintings of harlequins, clowns, and circus performers.
Each Young Professionals Night includes a unique theme, and the Barnes is pulling out all of the stops for what is sure to be stimulating affair. As a young professional artist in the early 20th century, Picasso divided his time between Barcelona and Paris, so the music for this Young Professionals Night will be provided by DJs from those cities.
DJ Isaac Jordan supplies the Barcelona beats, while the Parisian DJ Ren Richards provides European house music.
The party will last until 10 p.m., but be advised that galleries close at 9 p.m. Members can enjoy the event for $15, while tickets for the general public cost $30. Tickets can be purchased online.
