Eastern State Penitentiary hosts prison pet exhibition

Philadelphia’s Eastern State Penitentiary is offering up a special exhibit that highlights the pets and animals that lived among the prison’s walls.

This weekend Eastern State hosts Family Weekend: Pets in Prison from Saturday, August 17 until Sunday, August 18. The exhibition will feature loads of family friendly activities where visitors can learn the role of these special animals–like Pep the Dog–throughout the prison’s history. They can also meet (and adopt) local shelter dogs.

For more information on the exhibit, visit Eastern State Penitentiary’s website. Tickets are available online at easternstate.org/tickets. Tickets are also available at the door, subject to availability.
