The big houses big show

Designer Sakina M'sa chose a very unique location for her last runway show: a women's correctional facility in Fleury-Merogis. The inspiration for this might seem a little obvious, given that just last year everybody's favorite pop star staged one of her music video's in a similar scene.

The big houses big show

Fashion shows and presentations have become some what larger than life spectacle. Thanks to designers like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, the presentation is almost as important as the clothes themselves. Designer Sakina M’sa has dared to do something completely different with her latest runway presentation by showing her latest collection at a women’s correctional facility about 30 minutes outside of Paris.

(some looks from one of the designers collections)

The models for the collection? 30 of the inmates. And the attendants? Certainly not top editors like Emmaunale Alt, rather, the 90 other inmates at the prison. The concept seems very similar to Lady Gaga’s Telephone video, but for security reasons we think the show probably lacked any women in studded lingerine.
