The Moonlight Movie series returns to Mt. Airy this summer, presiding at the Lovett Library Park.  Kicking off on June 22nd, films will screened every Friday, running until August 17th

These free screenings sponsored by MT. Airy USA, The Free Library of Philadelphia, and the Trolley Car Diner were a major hit last year, with over 100 people bringing their lawn chairs and picnic necessities to enjoy movies such as The Princess Bride, Back To The Future, March of the Penguins, The Sandlot, Finding Nemo, and E.T.

This year there are two additional Fridays for even more moonlight movie enjoyment.  Included with the film screenings, viewers can indulge in Dining Under The Stars.  Local food vendors will be setting food stands right outside of the park site from 6:30-8:30 PM, just in time for the screenings to start.

Here’s a peek at the scheduled screenings:

June 22: The Princess Bride

June 29: The Wizard of Oz

July 6: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

July 13: To Kill A Mockingbird

July 20: The Muppets

July 27: 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies* (subject to technical abilities)

August 3: West Side Story

August 10: Up

August 17: Ghostbusters

In the event of poor weather, the Cliveden Carriage House located at 6401 Germantown Ave has offered to host the screenings.
