With a strongholda on the indie/folk music scene, Bon Iver has attained widespread success, specifically their Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, prompting them to headline festivals and tours. From collaborations with Kanye West to headlining Sasquatch! Music Festival, Bon Iver's achievements and work thus far has been impressive. On September 16th, frontman Justin Vernon and the rest of Bon Iver will show all in attendance at the Mann Center exactly why they are such a hot commodity.
Last week the group released and iTunes Session that featured 7 tracks mastered for an iTunes release. The massive ensemble recorded the EP at East West Studios in LA, drawing on material from their sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Tracks from that album on this EP include 'Michicant', 'Holocene', 'Minnesota, WI', and 'Hinnom, TX'.
Bon Iver offers a major spectacle when they take the stage, thanks in large part to the cacaphony that takes place during their performances. Ensembles this large are often unrivaled in when it comes to putting on impressive live shows, just look at The Arcade Fire. With a packed schedule for the summer and into the fall, you can bet that these shows are on a "can't miss" basis.
