Tune up your bikes, break out the body paint and get down to your unmentionables–it's time to get ready for the 5th annual Philly Naked Bike Ride!

Early this A.M., it was announced via e-mail that this year's ride will take place on Sunday, August 25th.

The Naked Bike Ride is a phenomenon that has spread to many cities around the world with the purpose of promoting cycling advocacy, raising awareness about fuel consumption and promoting positive body image.

Philadelphia's inaugural ride took place in September of 2009. Each year, the group of riders has grown larger and larger with the event's rising popularity. Last year they clocked in at around 2,600 riders!
