Start summer on a high note with solstice parties

It's not too late to work on your beach body. Sol Yoga Studio hosts a yoga class in Sutcliffe Park (101 Sutcliffe Lane, Conshohocken) on Friday, June 19 where attendees will perform 54 sun salutations followed by a more laid back class. Money raised from the 6 p.m. event will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Nothing says "summer" like getting dirty in the garden. The Neighborhood Gardens Trust will host the Community Gardens Day on Saturday, June 20 where participants can get involved in demonstrations, cleanups, activities and barbecues at 45 gardens throughout the city. Embrace the outdoors from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local artisans and musicians will fill Clark Park (43rd and Baltimore Ave.) for the annual Summer Solstice Festival. With jewelry, art, crafts, dance and theater, the day will be chock full of eclectic entertainment. Musical performers include Cheap Dinosaurs, Darla, Nathan Earl & Rachel Joy, The Deadeyes, Sidewalk Atlas, Liz De Lise and more. Things get underway at noon on Saturday, June 20.

Grab a beer from the beer garden, catch a set from live acts Lebon Lebon, Arc Divers, John Francis, Morgan Pinkstone, The Burgeoning and more, and fill up on food truck goodies during Roxborough Solstice at Gorgas Park (6300 Ridge Ave.). From noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, WXPN will bring the music, the concessions, moon bounce, carnival games and crafts to the park for an outdoorsy festival.

LGBTQ recreation group The Welcoming Committee is putting on the ultimate summer bar crawl on Saturday, June 20. Taking the fun from Ladder 15 (1528 Sansom St.), starting at 2 p.m., to Woody's (202 S. 13th St.) by 6:30 p.m., each bar features drink and food specials. Drink up (responsibly)!

Ring in summer the Swedish way. The Midsommarfest at the American Swedish Historical Museum (1900 Pattison Ave.) will have families eating Swedish pastries, dancing around the maypole and playing games from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20.

For a spooky and swanky summer fundraiser on Saturday, June 20, Laurel Hill Cemetery (3822 Ridge Ave.) is hosting the Soulstice to raise money for the preservation of the cemetery. Starting at 7 p.m., you'll be treated to an open bar from Yards, Art in the Age and Pravda Vodka, barbecue from Fat Jack's, music, sideshow performers and tarot card readings.

Trestle Inn (11th and Callowhill Streets) has crowned the queen of the summer and her name is Donna. Every Saturday this summer, including Saturday, June 20, DJs will play classic disco and Donna Summer hits starting at 10 p.m. Of course there will be go-go dancers.

Take it to the street on Sunday, June 21. Lucky 13 Pub (1820 S. 13th St.) is hosting a summer block party from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring vendors and live music from The Whips, Travis J. and the Rhinestones, Queen of Jeans and more.
