Snap and scat at the Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival

Put on some Ellington or Gillepsie tunes and head over to the seventh annual Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival

Put on some Ellington or Gillepsie tunes and head over to the seventh annual Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival at Saunders Park Greene on Saturday, July 20.

This music festival is free and family-friendly, so even the young ones can enjoy the best of local jazz music.

Grammy-nominated jazz artist Tim Warfield will headline the day's performances, and there will be more musical sets encompassing fusion and classical genres as well. Guests will groove to vibrant performances from Philayva, David Stevens, Glenn Bryan, Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble, Clef Club Youth Jazz Ensemble and much more.

As you're tapping your toes to the smooth melodies, indulge in eats from seven featured food trucks: Steak Queen, Fresh Food Hub, Local 215, Kami, Bonjour Creperie, Ben & Jerry's and Chef Johnny Bravo's Surf n Turf.

While the festival provides you with delicious noms, you can also give food by donating non-perishable food items to People's Emergency Center's Food Cupboard. Just bring your donations to the festival and you'll make a difference in the Philly community.

The fun doesn't just end at food: Guests can participate in many other activities as the beats play on. The day begins with a family health and fitness challenge that will get everyone pumped and ready to enjoy the rest of the festivities.

There will also be walking tours of the neighborhood's thriving art galleries. Enjoy the tour stops at Farcas Gallery, Art on the Avenue, John Taylor Studio, Joel Spiviek Studio and the Tiberino Museum for an enlightening art experience.

Not to mention there will be a photo booth, face-painting station and an eclectic bazaar of 21 vendors selling a plethora of trinkets ranging from jewelry to pottery.

This festival celebrates more than gorgeous musical melodies and it is the perfect way to harmoniously bring the neighborhood together.
