#PhillyFive Things to Do: Sept. 30, 2014

I have five secrets for you.

I have five secrets for you.

For a new feature: If you haven't checked out the National Liberty Museum's (321 Chestnut St.) new welcome gallery, now's the time to do it. The museum recently unveiled a new aspect of the space centering on heroism with a film, interactive iPad exhibit and glass sculptures. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For a literary treat: There's no doubt that Ernest Hemingway had a distinct writing style. Tyler Hoffman, chair of the English Department at Rutgers-Camden, will discuss Hemingway's utilization of repetition and omission in his works at 12:15 p.m. this afternoon at Rutgers University's Camden Center for the Arts (311 N. 5th St., Camden).

For a runway show: Inspired by the "Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love" exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, junior and senior fashion design students at Moore College of Art and Design (20th and Race Streets) will debut new fashions at the school's first runway show of the new school year. Held at 6 p.m., all pieces will be an homage to Philadelphia, utilizing 3D materials a la Patrick Kelly.

For a spiritual tour: The Laurel Hill Cemetery (3822 Ridge Ave.) takes visitors on a journey to the gravesites of a number of spiritual mediums, spiritualists and skeptics at this 6 p.m. tour.

For a preview: Hitchcock's classic, "The 39 Steps," comes to the stage at Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe St., Bristol) with a cast of four (playing over 150 characters) in true Tony Award-winning comedic fashion. Curtains are at 7:30 p.m.
