Up and at ‘em!

Up and at 'em!

For a good cause: Drop it like it's turkey. 102.9 WMGK's morning host John DeBella will broadcast live from Love Park (16th Street and JFK Blvd.) from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. accepting the season's favorite bird. Bring frozen turkeys, free turkey coupons, cash donations and checks (made out to City Team Philadelphia) to the park for this year's Turkey Drop.

For an eco-activity: Kids can see the importance and prominence the seemingly omnipresent H2O has in a meal — especially Thanksgiving — at Fairmount Water Works (640 Waterworks Dr.). Setting the Thanksgiving Water Table activity is open from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For a market: Stock up your Thanksgiving meal ingredient supply by heading over to Greensgrow Farms' (2501 E. Cumberland St.) Thanksgiving Farmstand, featuring seasonal produce, meats and cheeses. Pre-ordered a turkey from Greensgrow? You can pick it up now, too. The stand is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

For a neurological look: You know that feeling of guilt when you buy that bag you just don't need but have to have? Or what about the stress of buying a house? The emotions tied to purchases are explored tonight at the Franklin Institute (222 N. 20th St.) from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

For opening night: Will the glass slipper fit? Will those horrid stepsisters get theirs? You know the story. See Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" tonight at the Academy of Music (240 S. Broad St.) for a 7:30 p.m. opening.
