For a new exhibit: Explore the ancient Mongolian empire through artifacts like tents, weapons, jewels and documents, and learn about Genghis Kahn at the Franklin Institute (222 N. 20th St.). Their newest exhibit "Genghis Kahn: Bring the Legend to Life" is available to view from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

For friendly competition: Quizzo with Johnny Goodtimes kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the Market and Shops at Comcast Center (1701 JFK Blvd.). Winning teams score prizes, but the true consolation is bringing your own beer and wine.

For a documentary: The Philadelphia premiere of 14: Dred Scott, Wong Kim Ark & Vanessa Lopez takes place tonight at the National Constitution Center (525 Arch St.). Centered on the question of who has the right to be an American citizen, the film will be preceded with a discussion beginning at 6:15 p.m. However, if you're down for some food and drinks, show up at 5:30 p.m.

For a wordsmith: Author Gary Shteyngart, ("Super Sad True Love Story," "The Russian Debutante's Handbook") comes to the National Museum of American Jewish History (101 South Independence Mall East) for a Q&A and reading of  "Little Failure: A Memoir," a tale of Shteyngart's experiences as a Jewish-Russian immigrant in New York. Check it out at 7 p.m.

For a crowd sourced show: Casey Crescenzo's The Dear Hunter is performing behind his 2007 and 2009 albums Act II and Act III in which the set has been compiled based off of fan requests. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. at Union Transfer (1026 Spring Garden St.).
