#PhillyFive Things to Do: March 21, 2015

Almost as good as chocolate.

Almost as good as chocolate.

For breakfast: Waffles are on the menu today at the American Swedish Historical Museum (1900 Pattison Ave.) in honor of a late-March tradition. Get the back-story on why the tasty breakfast food is served over a spread of waffles, whipped cream, jam and coffee from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For mummies: Become experts (or close enough) in reading and writing ancient hieroglyphics, learn about the mummification process, take tours of the Penn Museum (3260 South St.), walk like an Egyptian through dance classes and more at the museum's all-day Egyptomania! event, running from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

For gardeners: Think outside the seed packet at this seed starting workshop at Greensgrow Farms (2501 E. Cumberland St.) where you'll plant your own tray of pea shoots and veggie starts and learn what plants are ideal for your environment. The two-hour class begins at noon.

For a signing: Hometown little league hero Mo'ne Davis, famous for her insane athletic abilities (she's also getting a movie made after her life, too), comes to Barnes and Noble (1805 Walnut St.) for a 2 p.m. book signing of her memoir "Mo'ne Davis: Remember My Name: My Story from First Pitch to Game." Did we mention she's only 13?

For nostalgia rock: Slip into your high school skinny jeans for Taking Back Sunday at the Electric Factory (421 7th St.). Doors are at 7 p.m.
