#PhillyFive Things to Do: Jan. 27, 2015

Snow won’t stop us.

Snow won't stop us.

For comfort food: Snow? Where? Pub and Kitchen (1946 Lombard St.) will open at noon today and will serve some cold-weather menu faves like grilled cheese, cheeseburgers and smoked duck schmitter with Genoa salami, duck breast, braised red cabbage, raclette and a jalapeño "special sauce" served on a poppy kaiser roll.

For a birthday: The Raven Society of the Free Library of Philadelphia hosts a birthday celebration for their main man Edgar Allan Poe at City Tap House Logan Square (2 Logan Square). Other than Poe trivia, expect a dramatic reading of "The Raven" and drink specials from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For serious business: Hollaback! Philly director Rochelle Keyhan will discuss and lead role-playing exercises about the ever-prevalent topic of street harassment. The talk runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Temple Contemporary (2001 N. 13th St.).

For future athletes: Ditch those shin splints. Dr. Arthur Nemchenko of King of Prussia Family Wellness talks at 7 p.m. at the Tredyffrin Public Library (582 Upper Gulph Rd., Strafford, Pa.) about running pain free.

For a benefit: The English Chamber Orchestra will come to the Perelman Theater (260 S. Broad St.) for a 7:30 p.m. concert benefitting Musicopia, a local nonprofit that offers Delaware Valley children access to music. The program will include Mozart and Robin Holloway.
