#PhillyFive Things to Do: April 9, 2015

Having options is the most important thing.

Having options is the most important thing.

For a musical talk: Listen in on a conversation with Ally-Jane Grossan, editor of the music-themed 33 1/3 book series, and Cameron Schaefer of the record of the month club Vinyl Me, Please, as they discuss the changes in today's music industry. Whether it be the transition to digital platforms or the resurgence of vinyl, no note will be left untuned at this 2:30 p.m. discussion at Temple University Libraries (1210 Polett Walk).

For happy hour: Let your artistic energy come out through collaging at Paradigm Gallery (746 S. 4th St.). From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., sip on drinks and check out Paradigm's upcoming exhibition.

For an exotic culinary course: You've seen it done at the sushi bar, now learn how to prepare sushi at City Kitchen in Reading Terminal Market (51 N. 12th St.) in this two-hour class, starting at 6:30 p.m.

For a quiz: Gather a team of (no more than five) know-it-alls for trivia at the Free Library of Philadelphia's Central Branch (1901 Vine St.) starting at 7 p.m. Check in starts at 6:45 p.m. There are prizes on the line here!

For laughs: See original sketch comedy from writer and performer Patric Ciervo at the Philly Improv Theater (2030 Sansom St.) at 9 p.m. tonight.
