Local comedy group to hold residency at Philly Improv Theater

Philly Improv Theater, one of the city’s go-to spots for top comedy training and performances, has recently paired up with independent improv group Bad Kitten for the inaugural season in its Launch Pad series — a way for local funnymen and women to get hands-on direction from PHIT’s staff through a two-month residency.

Philly Improv Theater, one of the city's go-to spots for top comedy training and performances, has recently paired up with independent improv group Bad Kitten for the inaugural season in its Launch Pad series — a way for local funnymen and women to get hands-on direction from PHIT's staff through a two-month residency.

The Bad Kitten players (Sam Abrams, Neil Bardhan, Ryan Birchmeier, Megan Elizabeth, Steve Holland, Daniel Reed and Lauren Rivera), who've all taken classes at PHIT, have been paired with director Raja Rajanathan and coach Alex J. Gross and will work with the two to put on some seriously hilarious performances throughout September.

Clear your calendars on Wednesdays Sept. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. as the troupe brings its unique characters and physical comedy to the Adrienne Theatre at 2030 Sansom St.

Now that's one way to do hump day.
