Philly's favorite bedroom guy with bedroom eyes, Kurt Vile has been busy as of late with a pretty full North American tour booked from June as well as with the upcoming release of his new EP, not to mention he's got another full-length in the works.
He hasn't forgotten his city of origin though, on Record Store Day, he packed out South Philly's Beautiful World Syndicate for a free performance. In the news of his summer tour, it's been announced that Mr. Vile will be playing both Woodsist Fests in LA and The Henry Miller Library at Big Sur in June, making me more than a little sad that Philadelphia doesn't butt against California. Not to fear though, it looks as though he'll be coming back to Philadelphia for another show, July 11 at Johnny Brenda's. Though not confirmed anywhere but his MySpace, Vile will be joined by Real Estate, both of whom have released material on the aforementioned Woodsist label. No word on tickets being available yet.
Kurt's Square Shells EP will come out May 25 on the Matador label, which can be pre-ordered on both vinyl and digital formats via Matador. To curb your hunger for all things Vile until then, you can grab the track "Invisibility : Nonexistent."
