Kanye West's newest album finally has a release date.  According to Pusha-T, Cruel Summer is set for an August 7th release, who spilled the beans during a Hot 97 interview with Funkmaster Flex.  Pusha-T, who is featured on the compliation album, will be joined by Frank Ocean and Jay Electronica, as well as fellow label-mate Big Sean.  Cruel Summer shares the name of a short film that Kanye debuted recently at the Cannes Film Festival.  The "seven-screen experience" featured Kid Cudi as the star, along with Pusha-T, Big Sean, Aziz Ansari and even Kanye himself.  The film is similar to Kanye's 'Runaway' experiment in 2010 in that it is essentially a prolonged music video relying heavily on imagery.

Kanye, Pusha, Big Sean, and 2 Chainz recently came together for the music video of 'Mercy', the first cut off the new album.

Whenever Kanye collaborates with G.O.O.D. members the outcome is always spectacular.  Take this announcement with a grain of salt though folks, remember how long it took Watch The Throne to be dropped after it's proposed release date?
