This month, Folkadelphia presents two concerts- Kath Bloom on Friday, June 15th and 200 Years on Friday, June 22nd.
Kath Bloom has been a fixture in the American folk scene since the early ‘70s, “Bloom sounds like a woman who has spent years in the wilderness… An earthy, unpretentious presence, she can snap a heart like a twig” says Pitchfork. She will be performing with Detroit's Lac La Belle and California's Cave Country.
200 years can be described as meditative jams alongside artful songwriting. The project has developed from Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance and Elisa Ambrogio of Magik Markers. The two will be joined by Jonathan Byerly of Plates of Cake and Brendan Codey, making it quite the unique mix.
Both of these shows will take place at the intimate Studio 34, located in West Philly just past Clark Park. You can purchase tickets to Kath Bloom here and tickets to 200 Years here.
