If you were at last week’s Night Market, you know all about the food truck talent in Philly. Now it’s time to vote for the best of that talent in the 2nd annual Philly Vendy Awards.
The Vendy Awards is an award ceremony for street vendors that was founded close to 10 years ago in New York City by the Urban Justice Center’s Street Vendor Project. Yesterday was the final day to vote online for your favorite vendor, so we are currently waiting for the final list of participants. If you caught last year’s Vendy Awards, you know that GiGi & Big R’s Caribbean Soul Food took home the gold. We can’t wait to find out who it will be this year.
The awards will occur from 3 – 7 pm at 39th and Market on Saturday, July 29th. Come out and feast your eyes and mouths on the all-you-can-eat food and beer as well as the usual sidewalk cook-off.
All proceeds will go to The Food Trust.
