IDentity Festival rolls into Philadelphia this Sunday!

The largest touring EDM festival hits Festival Pier this Sunday, touting a lineup of some must see DJ's and performers. Neon & glow sticks are encouraged.

IDentity Festival returns to Philadelphia this Sunday and while some may call this year's lineup underwhelming, the artists included are going to make you think otherwise.  IDentity is the largest touring festival in the country and one of the only all ages electronic events offered.  After having made a huge splash last summer, a lot of people expected this year to be even bigger.  While the lineups may differ in size and appeal to some, the acts included have been putting on some of the best shows all summer.

The Philadelphia lineup is really something special when you break it down.  Headlining Sunday's spectacle is one of the godfathers of modern electronic music, Eric Prydz.  His fear of flying has been well documented, so his ability to overcome that phobia is impressive by itself.  While his classic production "Call On Me" was an enormous hit in the early 2000's, Prydz has created far better tracks than that club sensation.  Over the years he has released massive tunes like "Pjanoo" and "2Night", but when he released his debut album Pryda in May, he further cemented himself as one of the true talents in EDM today.  His sets have become known for his extremely high energy and unmatched song selection.  Eric Prydz was definitely a fantastic pick to headline ID this year.  Fellow headliners Excision and Madeon are no slouches either.  Excision has worked his way into becoming one of the premiere names in Dubstep today, while Madeon is the 18 year old French prodigy who has impressed the world with wisdom beyond his years and an extremely promising production style.  If you don't believe us, check out his "Pop Culture" video.

While the headliners grab your attention first, it is the supporting acts that are really going to make an impression on the crowd this Sunday at Festival Pier.  Showtek is a name that you may not recognize, but we suggest you familiarize yourself immediately.  Within the last year they have worked with huge names like Tiesto, Hardwell, and Angger Dimas.  Their background in various genres of electronic music have allowed them to create a very unique and compelling sound, which is on full display in all of their sets.  22 year old Russian sensation Arty released his first productions in 2009, and hasn't looked back since.  From trance to progressive house, Arty has built a reputation as for his uplifting and inspiring productions, many of which have allowed him to work with a number of talented artists over the last few years.

Rounding out the lineup are some other exceptional acts.  Dubstep wonder Noisia, electro house producer Le Castle Vania, "Take Over Control" vocalist Eva Simons, Underground Pop phenom Audrey Napoleon, Electro enigma The Eye, and heavy hitter Stephan Jacobs.

This year's IDentity Festival stop in Philadelphia is in fact smaller, but it is definitely going to be a more intimate show at a much better venue.  Included below is a Soundcloud playlist of some selections from a number of artists performing this Sunday.
