Although the Eagles are not playing at home this evening, there's a big deal going on in the stadium. The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society's 10th Annual Chef's Dinner for PAWS is set to take place on Monday, Sept. 15 at Lincoln Financial Field (1 Lincoln Financial Way) in South Philadelphia. Beginning at 6 p.m., local chefs from Philadelphia and surrounding areas create a three-course food-and-wine pairing for 12 guests each. Proceeds from this event go towards PAWS. Looking for a table? You can never go wrong with a cocktail for dinner, especially when a distiller pairs up the right match for the evening. Sixth-generation rum maker, Roberto Serralles will make a visit to Bar Ferdinand  (1030 N Second St.) on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Northern Liberties for a special four-course Rum Distiller Dinner featuring special dishes with cocktails from Serralles rum, Don Q. The dinner is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and costs $50 per person. Dishes to expect are salpicon of octopus and mussels, trout, pork belly, and dessert.

The vendors along Baltimore Avenue will really know how to make a single dollar bill go a long way on Thursday, Sept. 18 as a Dollar Stroll is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. On Baltimore Avenue in University City, between 43rd and 51st Streets, catch some great bargains for only $1 on a wide range of products being offered along the block. Get a draft of craft beer, taste some local foods, and enjoy live entertainment performed throughout the evening.

Since Friday, Sept. 5, The Fringe Arts Festival has been entertaining the city at various venues, as well as their home location. With the festival close approaching (Sunday, Sept. 21), take advantage of one of the final related events. On Thursday, Sept. 18, Penn's Landing along Columbus Boulevard transforms into a center of culinary excellence and art at the 2014 Feastival. General admission is $250 and gets you access to exclusive world-class dining options, as well as entertainment from artists all over the world. Feastival will start at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, the 700 block of South Street in South Philadelphia will transform in little Germany during Brauhaus Schmitz's 2014 Oktoberfest celebration. From noon to 8 p.m., guests can enjoy authentic German beers, German foods, and traditional music and dancing. Entry to the festival is free and is a pay-as-you-go type of deal. For the ultimate experience, a VIP ticket costs $100 and gets you exclusive access to blocked-off areas, six beer tickets, a Bavarian buffet, official Oktoberfest shirt, and a 1-liter glass beer stein with survival supplies. Wear your dirndl and lederhosen, you won't be the only one.
