Learn how to preserve food with beer at Yards Brewery (901 N. Delaware Ave.) on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Led by Brine Street Picklery and Yards' Lady Bird Club, this guided class will teach attendees how to prepare certain veggies with IPAs, and saisons. This event is BYO knife. Things get started at 7 p.m.  

Make Friday, Nov. 6 date night with a special wine dinner at Lacroix (210 W. Rittenhouse Sq.). Beginning at 7 p.m., guests of the restaurant will experience wines of Corsica and Kermit Lynch, followed by a tasting menu featuring hors d'oeuvres, seafood, and meat options. Call 215-790-2533 for reservations. 

Learn a new culinary skill on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Greensgrow Farms (2139 East Cumberland St.) during a hands-on oyster-shucking workshop. Beginning at noon, guests will get the 411 on oyster varieties, growing methods, taste differences, and more. Everyone will leave with oysters and a shucking knife to take home. 

For an exclusive taste: The Academy of Natural Science's (1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) annual fundraiser returns Saturday, Nov. 7 and this year will feature cocktails! From 7 to 10 p.m., visitors of the museum will get local food pairings alongside cocktails that all are themed around the locations exhibits. Call 215-299-3790 for reservations.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, make way to the Independence Seaport Museum for the 13th annual Jessie's Day "Give the Gift of Scholarship" party. This fundraiser features a silent auction, live entertainment, and bites and beverages from local restaurants and breweries. Purchase tickets here.
