Tuesday, June 16 is Bloomsday, the national celebration of Irish novelist and poet, James Joyce. McGillin's Olde Ale House (1310 Drury St.) honors the author every year with a ceremonial reading of Ulysses, mugs of O'Hara's Irish Stout, and a traditional Irish breakfast. New this year, the pub will host a fashion show featuring styles Ma McGillin would have worn. The event starts at 10 a.m.

Travel back to 1776 with Historic Philadelphia during Independence After Hours. On Tuesday, June 16, guests can get an exclusive look at how colonial life was during a guided tour, (starts at 6th and Chestnut) followed by an 18th century-inspired dinner at the Historic City Tavern. The three-course menu for the evening includes salad, turkey pot pie, salmon, beef pie, and more. The adventure starts at 5:30 p.m.

Holy cannoli! On Tuesday, June 16, Potito's Italian American Bakery (all locations) celebrates National Cannoli Day by giving out their signature pastry desserts for free. Visitors will also get a chance to taste the locations newest flavors including chocolate Italian cream, pistachio, raspberry, velvet, and tons more. Potito's opens at 7 a.m.

The second installment of the Food Trust's Night Market is set to take over the 1300 block of Callowhill on Thursday, June 18. From 6 to 10 p.m., grab your pals and enjoy cuisine from a handful of Philly trucks, live music, and brews provide by Penn Distributors. Some food trucks in attendance include SpOt Burgers, Rio Brazilian Steak Truck, Philly Chicken 'n rice, and Sweet Nectar Delights.

For an unusual combination: Automobiles and tacos get together on Saturday, June 20, as Motorcar Makeovers (1995 Morris Road) celebrates 20 years of business. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests can enjoy a car show, an auction, a remote control racing game for the kids, and free tacos from Farina's Union Taco Truck.
