Five things to do today – live music, block party, workout classes

For an outdoor party: The 600 block of Landis Avenue in downtown Vineland, NJ celebrates the third anniversary of the Landis Marketplace with a pig roast, horse and buggy rides, face painting and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For a farm to table activity: Pick and taste fresh produce at The Longview Center for Agriculture in Collegeville, PA. From 11 a.m. until noon children and parents will learn about ranch chores and hang out with farm animals.

For a heart-rate increase: Try up to 20 different 8-minute fitness classes during Philly Fit’s Workout-A-Thon, held at Newtown, PA’s Newtown Athletic Club from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Then vote on who holds the best class.

For a birthday party: The Philadelphia Folklore Project is turning 27 and to celebrate, they’re throwing a party at the Painted Bride Art Center on Vine Street. Hear a performance by the Liberian Women’s Chorus for Change and learn a circle dance to the sounds of Kulu Mele African Dance and Drum Ensemble. The party begins at 6 p.m. and concludes at 9 p.m.

For an electro-pop adventure: You know you rocked out to the hit “Bulletproof” in 2009 and after a five year hiatus, La Roux is back. Rochester, NY duo supports at tonight’s show at the Trocadero Theatre. Doors are at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. in Chinatown.
