Five things to do today – jazz jam, cabaret, dance party

It may be Monday, but it can also be fun-day.

It may be Monday, but it can also be fun-day.

For an alumni day: At 1:05 p.m., the Philadelphia Phillies end their series with the Mets as well as Alumni Week comes to a close. Prior to the game at Citizens Bank Park, all Phans will receive a special "Pride of the Phillies" print photo, and during the game, put your selfie skills to the test as alumni ball players wander around the stadium.

For a group jam: Bring your best jazz skills to West Philly's World Café Live for a jazz open mic starting at 5:30 p.m. Just make sure to sign up for a slot upon arrival.

For a lakeside night: Before the full moon (well, not technically a full moon, but close enough) can peek out, paddle along Bristol, Pa.'s Silver Lake for a sunset boat cruise. Meet at the Silver Lake Nature Center at 7 p.m.

For a cabaret: Tony-nominated performer Karen Akers performs an evening of cabaret tonight at Cape May, N.J.'s Cape May Stage. The show starts at 8 p.m.

For a dance party: Get down every Monday night at The Barbary for Tiger Beats, an indie dance party, starting at 9 p.m. in Fishtown.
