Five things to do today – game day, community night, music festival

This is living.

This is living.

For gamers: A wide selection of games, from board to video games, will be available for free play at the Bellmawr Branch of the Camden County Library System from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

For a historical afternoon: Before the kids go back to school, let them learn a thing or two at Pennypacker Mills during this free, two-hour hands-on history lesson about life in the 1900s. Get to the Schwenksville, Pa. park by 1 p.m. (And if you miss it, don't worry — there are two more sessions held at the same time and place tomorrow and Friday.)

For a community night: Score free admission to the Franklin Institute for Target Community Night starting at 5 p.m. Until 8 p.m., experience all the Logan Square museum has to offer.

For an independent music festival: In a city where the quest for liberty began, it's only natural an independent music festival donning the word take place there. Musical representatives from multiple genres from EDM to hip hop take over the four floors at Northern Liberties' Finnigan's Wake for five days of independent music, industry panels and mentoring sessions, starting today at 6 p.m. during the Liberty Music Fest.

For a sweet show: Roald Dahl's story of a magical chocolate factory comes to life on the Surflight Theatre stage at 6 p.m. today for "Willy Wonka, Jr." in Beach Haven, N.J.
