Today’s got drama, art and movies. All the good stuff.

Today's got drama, art and movies. All the good stuff.

For a dramatic end: Beach season is winding down and the folks in Ocean City are greeting the fall with well…a fall. At 11 a.m. on the 9th Street Beach, contestants will perform their best dramatic descent, fall, or "plop" into the sand for a chance to be crowned the King or Queen of Plop. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

For a new exhibit: Opening today is a new body of work from artist Rochelle Marcus Dinkin at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. "The Spiritual Journey of the Mystical Heroine," is comprised of paintings and mixed media works showing narratives concerning birth, death, resurrection, sexuality and life struggles. Check it out on South Street between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

For classy conversation: Check out the latest collection at the Barnes Foundation from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday nights while enjoying cocktails and mingling.

For a movie night: The final outdoor family movie night in Hawthorne Park kicks off at 8:30 p.m. with a viewing of "Despicable Me." Get there early for pre-movie entertainment and snacks, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Bella Vista park.

For a reality show-sized concert: Former pop-punk frontwoman Cassadee Pope turned Team Blake contestant and eventual winner on "The Voice" knows a thing or two about performing live — aside from showing her chops on TV, her previous band, Hey Monday, did some extensive touring. She comes to Atlantic City's House of Blues for an 8 p.m. show.
