You worked hard all week, so it would be a shame if we let you waste your precious weekend. Here we give you a snapshot of a few of the weekend’s best events.
I’m a sucker for outdoor markets and lucky for me (and you, if you share the same sentiment as I), there are quite a few this weekend. Arcadia University in Glenside, PA is holding their spring flea market on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., load up on your antique and vintage goods at Phila Flea Market all day on Saturday, April 12, kicking off at 9 a.m. at Headhouse Square and Clover Market makes its 2014 debut on Sunday, April 13 in Chestnut Hill from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Manayunk’s 4th annual StrEAT Food Festival not only launches the district’s restaurant week, but also brings the best food trucks, vendors and farm stands to Manayunk’s Main Street on Saturday, April 12 starting at 11 a.m. Another food festival worth noting takes place on Sunday, April 13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The Philly Farm and Food Fest highlights local farmers and locally grown products from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Let’s not forget about music: local rockers The Wonder Years play the Electric Factory on Saturday, April 12, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., British boy-banders The Wanted take the stage at the Tower Theater on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m., Underground Arts hosts London Grammar (also British) on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. For Sunday, April 13, catch Taking Back Sunday at the Tower Theater at 7 p.m.
