Butchering 101: A culinary class for women

On Sunday, July 19, Kensington Quarters' (1310 Frankford Ave.) head butcher Heather Thomason will host an educational and demonstrational workshop about cutting meats on the second floor during Pig 101.

From 2:30 to 5 p.m., the class will walk through the process of cross-section butchering of one of the farm's wood-lot-raised pigs, as well as offer more of an understanding about various cuts and recommended techniques. Additionally, portions of the pig will be available to take home.
