Graduates will join many hungry workers in the amazing career race in a few weeks and for some, it will be a smooth path, while for others it might get bumpy. A major way to build a name for yourself is by networking. It is an excellent way to establish your name in the work world, as well as explore future career paths. Philadelphia has many great networking events and lectures for current students, graduates, and past grads alike. Grab a pen, a pad, a business card and attend these upcoming events lined up for May.

United Career Fairs starts off the week with a Philadelphia Career Fair on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Crown Plaza. During the event you will meet with the decision-makers hiring in sales, business development and marketers. The event is open to all levels of skill and is a great way to connect with your future dream job.

Students and business-minded professionals are invited to attend Conversations From the C-Suite, a lecture by Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter and Jelly at the Free Library of Philadelphia on Thursday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m. Biz Stone will converse about the power of creativity, and how social media is such as success in society. After the discussion, attendees will receive Biz Stone's book Things a Little Bird Told Me: Confessions of the Creative Mind.

On Friday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Chains inc. turns Lavish Nightclub into a Promotional Networking Center. During this event, swap business cards and promotional material to gain your company exposure and recognition.

Join the Young Professionals Network as they host Success in the City at the National Museum of American Jewish History on May 7, at 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interact and hear lectures from the city’s top economic developers and business leaders as they discuss how to create an impact on the city of Philadelphia.
