Say you're having a beer festival, and you'll get lots of attention.
Then say you're having a bacon and beer festival, and well...
(I just heard you squeal.)
The Philadelphia Bacon and Beer Festival, a fundraiser for MANNA, has been set for Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2:30 to 5 p.m., at Hotel Monaco (Fiftth and Chestnut Streets).
Sixteen restaurants and nine local craft breweries have been gathered.
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. and are extremely limited.
Organizer @eatboston has been behind similar festivals starting in Boston and later in Denver and San Francisco.
Philly co-organizer Danya Henninger, working here with Rolling Barrel Events, says this first Philadelphia fest will be but a quarter of the size of the original in Boston, which is in its fourth year and has sold out in five minutes each of the past three years. Ari Miller of 1732 Meats will provide the bacon for the restaurants that don't make their own.
A $45 ticket provides access to the festival and unlimited samples from all of the restaurants and brewers.
