One of Philadelphia’s most loved bands, The Armchairs, played their very last show on Friday to a very packed house at Johnny Brenda’s. Opening acts included Orbit to Leslie, Circadian Rhythms, and Dinosaur Feathers. We'll miss you guys!

The first show features The Spinning Leaves and Hezekiah Jones, both hailing from Philadelphia. Together the artists created a collaborative record as Spinning Jones and Hezekiah Leaves. Hezekiah Jones has a new album dropping February 18 titled "Have You Seen Our New Fort?" which can also be previewed here.
Along with the concert an artist discussion, led by William "Biff" Kennedy of Charterhouse Music Group and WXPN, will take place during portions of the show. Afterward, both artists will be on The Folk Show with Gene Shay (8-11 pm).

Moody, theatrical Baltimore band Celebration have been making music for more than 5 years now—although my first real taste of them came just last fall, when I fell in love with the song "Young love", front woman Katrina Ford's contribution to Dave Sitek’s Maximum Balloon project. (Check out the track—and fall in love for yourself—here.)

Philadelphia’s psychedelic child Cheers Elephant officially announce the release of their second LP Man is Nature, unveiling a striking new sound for casual listeners and music snobs alike. The debut of this full-length album reveals a more melodic and roots rock and roll sound while staying true to the psychedelic and progressive nature Cheers Elephant thrives in.
Produced by Todd Mecaughey of The New Connection at Cambridge Studios, Cheers Elephant’s second studio release will feature such crowd favorites as Como es la Vida, 6th and Girard, and Shark Attack in a warm, hi-fi setting. The album plays with the ears by taunting British Invasion-esque harmonies, Progressive Rock interludes, and a frequent overtone of absurdity that shouldn’t make sense, but does.
