Newport Jazz Festival: Now 60. For 60 years, the Newport Jazz Festival has celebrated the joy of jazz. Founded by impresario George Wein in 1954, the festival has produced countless memorable moments. A multigenerational ensemble assembled by Wein will perform Sunday night at the Merriam Theater to celebrate the festival's diamond anniversary.

This snappy adaptation of the '60s Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon segments is a movie about the smartest creature on Earth - who just happens to be a beagle - and his adopted human boy.     Philadelphia Magic Gardens' Peco Family Jam. In a program that will focus on the small pieces that make up the Gardens' mosaic artwork, storyteller Carla Wiley will share tales of how small things and actions can work together to do something great. Later, visitors can make their own mosaic medallions from the garden's pieces.
