Video: Q&A with Women's Professional Soccer CEO Jennifer O'Sullivan

Friday's Women's Professional Soccer draft represented the first occasion in which new league CEO Jennifer O'Sullivan was really in the spotlight.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Friday's Women's Professional Soccer draft represented the first occasion in which new league CEO Jennifer O'Sullivan was really in the spotlight.

After spending most of Friday afternoon overseeing the WPS draft, O'Sullivan spent a few minutes chatting with reporters about the goals she wants to achieve.

One of those goals is bringing more general soccer fans to watch WPS. In her remarks before the draft started, O'Sullivan specifically mentioned the Sons of Ben on a few occasions, praising the Union's supporters club for helping to liven up the atmosphere at Independence games.

In her post-draft interview I asked O'Sullivan to expand on that subject, and how she can help change the fan base for women's soccer from its traditonally family-oriented nature.

I also asked her about the fact that U.S. national team stars Abby Wambach and Hope Solo aren't in the league right now.

Here is a video with her answers, as well as some other highlights from the question-and-answer session.
