Seattle's stars, savvy shine in Open Cup final

For much of the night, the 101st U.S. Open Cup final was about the Union: their hustle, their determination, their incredible fans that had PPL Park literally shaking.

But when the final whistle blew, the Sounders deservedly stood in the spotlight. Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins proved why they get paid the big money, as their goals in extra time gave Seattle its fourth Open Cup in the team's six years in Major League Soccer.

At the end of a long and wild night, I got together with Matt Pentz of the Seattle Times to talk about why the Sounders proved to be worthy champions.
