Team payroll comparison

The Union's total payroll figure has not changed since August: $3,322,942.00 in base salary and $3,643,642.00 in guaranteed compensation. This is because Chris Konopka's departure was offset by Yann Ekra's arrival. Both players make the same salary: $46,500.00 base and guaranteedf.

Here's how the Union's stacks up against the rest of Major League Soccer. In parentheses I have noted how much each team's payroll has changed since August, and changes in the payroll ranking.

Note that these numbers include the salaries of players on loan from MLS teams to international teams. Such players include Carlos Valdés (Philadelphia), Fredy Montero (Seattle) and Álvaro Fernández (Chicago).
